We realize it is easy to get frustrated with a two or four year college program and it can seem that there is no light at the end of the tunnel. That is why we have cut all the “fluff” from our curriculum. We at Med-Assist, teach our students the life skills that they need to succeed in the health care industry.

According to the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Medical assisting is projected to be one of the fastest growing occupations over the 2004-2014 period”. We offer administrative classes such as Medical Billing/Coding, Medical Insurance, Transcription, and Medical Computers. We make sure our students are very well rounded medical professionals. We teach resume writing, medical law, professional communication, and we also have “mock-interviews” here at the school.
We also offer a variety of exciting comprehensive lab and clinical classes.
Our students learn to take vital signs, read EKG (heart rate monitors) machines, take blood pressures, give injections, draw blood and analyze it under the microscope.
This is not the type of school where we let our students “fall through the cracks”. We offer free tutoring and our awesome staff is more than helpful and willing to give our students the confidence and the desire that they need to be successful as a medical assistant. Med-Assist has been teaching medical assistants since 1974.
We have developed a close knit bond with the medical community in Hawaii. We have an amazing externship program where, in the last five weeks of the program we place our students in doctor’s offices or clinics so that they can have hands on experience in the medical field and reinforce everything they learn at our school.
Over the years, our externship program has grown to include over 150 approved externship sites. They include small private family practices, all the major hospitals and clinics across Oahu, and all specialty areas.
